Celebrating Dad & Mom's 40th

This week (July 7-10) my family celebrated my parent's 40th wedding anniversary (coming up in August) with a trip to southern Indiana. My parents, sister Denise, brother Eric and sister-in-law Michelle rented a cabin near Brown County and hung out and explored the area for several days. It was a very relaxing and fun trip and was a great way for the family to celebrate. I found the cabin online through Antler Log Cabins and rented it based on the pictures on the website. The cabin exceeded our expectations and was very clean, felt brand new, and was a great place to relax.

We spent a day exploring Brown County State Park, the largest state park in Indiana. We ate lunch in the lodge, walked a few trails, and enjoyed the nice nature center.

The trail was nice but a little longer than we anticipated. The trail map said the distance was just less than 1 mile, but I KNOW it was longer than that.

On Wednesday we went shopping in Nashville (IN, not TN), and ate lunch at That Sandwich Place, which is decorated in a Bobby Knight theme. For you non-Hoosiers or non-Basketball fans, Knight is the former Indiana University Men's Basketball coach. He is much loved by some and much hated by others.

On the way home from Nashville, we drove through Bean Blossom. Yes -that is actually the name of the town. And, there is a Mennonite church there that my parents attended while they were in grad school.

The sign says Strangers expected, but we tried the door and it was locked.

We enjoyed hanging around the cabin.
