Yoder Reunion

Last weekend I attended the CJ Yoder Reunion, a gathering of my Grandpa (William M) Yoder's brothers and sisters and descendants. It is held every year near Grantsville, MD, where my grandpa grew up. I traveled out on Thursday afternoon/evening with my parents, and came back on Sunday afternoon/evening with Eric and Michelle. It always seems like a very fast trip, but it's always good to see these relatives. All of my grandpa's siblings are deceased except his youngest sister, Mary, who was there with her husband Ira and some of their children.

On the way out East we stopped in at Wendell & Melanie's house to see their newest addition, Abigail Zion, born July 11.

Melanie and oldest daughter Bekah

Mom and Dad and I did a little exploring around Garrett County before we went to the reunion on Friday afternoon. Here they are overlooking the cove near Accident, MD. (yes that really is the name of the town!)

Garth and Eric helped out with the auction on Saturday evening, which helps cover expenses for the weekend and allows us to usually give money to a charitable organization. Here they are modeling some hats made my Linda J.

Kevin & Bekah coming back from the swimming pool.
Ralph N, Garth Y, and Galen N. (all making strange faces!)

Our family was in charge of the meal on Saturday evening. We served haystacks. Here's part of the long line of helpers: L to R: Wanda, Cloyce, Judy, Marion, Garth

The table set for Sunday dinner, just like at CJ Yoder's house.
