Notre Dame basketball

On Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving) I got an email from Notre Dame Athletics offering cheap tickets and reduced fees for several of their men's and women's basketball games over the following month of so.  Denise and I looked at our schedules and decided to go to both a men's and women's game in December.  We have REALLY wanted to see to see the women play, particularly Skylar Diggins.  We went to see the men's team play Sacred Heart (from Connecticut) on Monday, 12/19, and then we saw the women play on Wednesday, 12/28 against Longwood (VA).  Both games were pretty much blowouts (ND won) since they were playing non-conference teams during Christmas holiday.  The atmosphere was quite a bit different than big-deal ND games because the opponents basically had no fans, and there were no students around, but it was still a fun time.  We took our friends Cara and Kristine with us to the women's game.

Skylar Diggins is the real deal.  She is fun to watch.  The ND women's team is currently ranked #3 in the nation and is a very good team.  They got to the national finals last year but lost in the championship game, and hope to get there again this year.  Let's hope they do well again this year.
