Last weekend

Last Saturday morning Denise and I drove up to Shipshewana to check out the annual benefit auction for Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County. We walked around for a little bit but didn't see much we needed, so we left. We were bad - we didn't spend any money at a fundraiser!

The auction was held on the grounds of the Shipshewana Flea Market. Pretty quiet on a Saturday, but mobbed with people on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

After that we went to Middlebury to check out the Middlebury Summer Fesitval. We strolled through the vendors and then decided to hit some local shops. We went to the new Middlebury Farmers Market in the old drugstore building downtown. They had a nice variety of vendors for only having been open several weeks.

Here are our purchases for the day. Good local eating! Kholrabi from the farmers market, homemade Amish potato(e) chips also from the farmer's market, and bratwurst from Old Hoosier Meats.
