Empty Bowl Fundraiser 2010

Last Saturday was the Empty Bowl Fundraiser. This is an annual fundraiser for Interfaith Hospitality Network sponsored by the Clay Artists Guild. Guild members make homemade soup bowls, local restaurants and residents provide homemade soup, and people like me pay $15 to pick out a soup bowl, fill it with soup, add some bread, dessert & drink, eat, and then take the bowl home with us. It has become a very popular fundraiser, partly because it is for a good cause, and mostly because you get to pick out an awesome bowl! I am acquiring quite an eclectic collection of bowls! Over $13,000 was raised for IHN this year.

The line was out the door even though we arrived before the stated starting time.

They were well organized and had a diagram showing where to go.

Music was provided while we waited in line.

Choosing bowls was the hardest part! (and what made the line move slowly)

bowls of all shapes and sizes

My meal - yummy potato soup

The three bowls picked out by (left to right) Denise, me and Penny.

what about putting on a picture of all the different bowls you've gotten at this event? sounds like fun - wish I was there to go too. Cara
