We arrived back in the London airport on Saturday evening after a short flight from Paris. We left plenty early on Saturday afternoon from Paris city center to get to the airport, but after frustratingly long lines at baggage check-in, customs, and security we finally got to our gate only about 1/2 hour before boarding. We had a short 50 minute flight back to London, and Rebecca was again waiting to pick us up. We hadn't eaten since early afternoon, so we shopped at a KFC on the way back to Rebecca's house. Rebecca dropped Denise and I off at Richard & Heather's house, a couple from their church that has some extra beds in their house for us to use.
The next morning we went to church with Earl and Rebecca at West Church, a part of the Basingstoke Community Church of which they are a part (it's hard to explain). After an enjoyable church service we stayed for a picnic lunch afterward, then went back to Overton to relax at Earl & Rebecca's house. Rebecca gave us a walking tour of Overton, then Earl drove us out to Stonehenge, which is only about 1/2 hour from their house! A sight to behold! It was cool to see something in person that I have seen in so many pictures. We didn't pay to hear the audio explanation - I figured I could find information online! :) After supper we spent the evening playing games and relaxing.
Today we are off to Oxford, a college town about 1 hour from here where Earl & Rebecca attended Kings Bible College several years ago. It is a neat town to explore. We will probably be doing a lot of walking again today.
We tried to recharge my camera batteries last night and fried the battery charger, but we seem to have things working at Earl & Rebecca's house, so I am also charging my computer. Might not have too many pictures of Oxford today since my camera batteries are very low.
It has been a relaxing time here in the countryside of England after the faster pace of Paris. It's interesting to see people go about their daily lives and some of the differences between here and the US.
